fD at Institute of Network Cultures' Winter Camp 2009

Amsterdam, Netherlands freeDimensional attended Winter Camp 2009, a convergence of networks held by Institute of Network Cultures in Amsterdam, March 2-8, 2009. We had a great time, learned a lot from the other networks, met with local partners we usually only interact with online, and got a lot of organizational work done. Trans Europe Halles and freeDimensional present at "Voices on Contemporary Europe" seminar on behalf of Lund's 2014 European Capital of Culture candidacy

EUREPICA CHALLENGE - a new European Epic is the result of Belarus Free Theatre's summon to 14 writers from 14 countries to give new perspectives on the most urgent challenges facing their societies. Participants addressed the ideas behind the project at Voices, a follow-up event held on March 10th, 2009. 1st Annual Cairo Residency Symposium

Cairo, Egypt

Inspired by the increased interest in artist mobility between Europe and the Mediterranean region, the Middle-East and Africa and upcoming initiatives in the region, the Townhouse Gallery (Cairo) and the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture (Amsterdam) are organizing a three-day Residency Symposium in Cairo. The aim of the symposium, in which fD is participating, is to discuss in depth the significance and possibilities of cultural exchange in residency centers between artists from Europe, the Middle East and Africa. freeDimensional and Open Society Institute will be participating in a panel on April 5th, at the TransCultural Exchange 2009 Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts.
